Samantha Brockway

An Artist and Illustrator living in Northamptonshire. I work in many mediums but love watercolour and dry point etching.
My work is my response to the landscape and people around me. My images often have a narrative or sense of stillness in a moment. I use mark making in my work to build up the image.
I graduated the University of the West of England. While studying I entered the Macmillian Children’s Book Illustration Competition and was shortlisted, which kickstarted my freelance career. I later joined the Greetings Card Industry in Northamptonshire where I remained for 15 years.
Working freelance again has enabled me to develop my individual style and with the help of the local Art Society’s printing press I have discovered Intaglio printing.
A prize winner at 2023, 2024 and 2025 NROS Central Exhibitions and was awarded first prize in 2024 KDAS annual exhibition. Earlier this year I was elected a full member of Northampton Town and County Art Society. I also belong to Kettering and District Art Society and Northants and Rutland Open Studios.
I recently had an intaglio print selected by the Green and Stone Gallery’s ‘Works on Paper Exhibition had 2 paintings selected in the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists Watercolour Prize Exhibition.
