In my work, I observe and attempt to reflect both the expansive sweep of the rural landscape and small details within that. Drawn to the ever changing hues of the open fields, the fleeting burst of sunlight that ignites a crop into brilliance, and the ever-shifting patchwork shaped by seasonal changes, these become for me a canvas shaped by colour and contour.

While I often abstract or naively paint this big view with bold colour blocking, I remain rooted in portraying details of what I call “field furniture”: the incidental elements that lend character to the land. These markings speak of the land’s lived-in reality.

My creative practice is a conversation between panoramic scale and detail. Through both exploration and experimentation, I am working to celebrate this balance—to find visual language that honours the horizon and the humble track alike, and to invite viewers to rediscover the landscape not just as a view, but as an experience
