About this Collection

All of these pieces have some sort of hand cut form that has been painted with hi-fire enamels and kiln-fused. Each subject piece is then placed on a background created with glass powders and crushed glass. The piece is then embellished with the following elements which are all made by hand in our Firedglass studio in Rushden:

Stringers - long glass strands used for grasses and undergrowth

Murrini - tiny floral chips cut from long canes of floral designs typically used in millefiori paperweights

These are Heritage crafts made famous in the hot shops of Murano. Combined, these glass elements allow us to create richly detailed pieces.
