The Guardian Grotesque

Artwork Description
Medieval-style polymorphic grotesque.
Carved from European Oak, which for around 230 years was part of a roof beam of a chateau in southern France. I was given a few pieces of the old timbers when the roof was replaced.
The design incorporates a stylised lion head, dragon body & wings, and a serpent tail coiled under the rear.
