Meet the Artist!
Lucy Cade (b. 1980, London, UK) was educated at Oxford (BA Classics, 2003) and City & Guilds of London Art School (MA, Fine Art, 2023). She has exhibited widely in the UK and Europe, recently in 2025 with Rise Art x Glennfiddich (also documented online and in Luxe magazine); in her end of duo residency exhibition (curated by Mollie E. Barnes) at Clovermill in the Netherlands in 2025; at Three Rooms Gallery in London in her self-curated group show 'Doubles & Triples',; and in 2026 as part of the group show 'Flow' at Seager Gallery, She was shortlisted for the Jackson's Painting Prize in 2021 and was awarded a DYCP grant, also in 2021, for a painting project in response to her experience of postnatal psychosis. She has paintings in collections internationally, including in the home of award-winning UK interior designer Harriet Anstruther, featured in House & Garden. May 2026

My blue-toned paintings translate mid-century cinematic memory structures into fixed, oval compositions. Historically associated with devotional portraiture, the oval becomes a device of containment.
