Heidi Clawson

I am a semi abstract painter working from my garden studio in rural Lincolnshire.

My journey with art began early, winning numerous competitions before completing a foundation course at Lincoln Art College, followed by an Honours Degree in Textiles from Manchester Metropolitan University.

I paint landscapes, but really I’m painting the feeling of home —
sometimes quiet and still, sometimes vast and unsettled. My work explores those in-between moments where light, weather and memory meet and where a sense of belonging can be felt, even if the place itself is imagined.

I’m drawn to shifting skies, open landscapes and the small presence of a house in the distance - something to hold onto. These recurring forms have become a way of exploring connection, nostalgia and the idea of returning. Not necessarily to a place, but to a feeling

After earning my degree, I pursued a diverse artistic career, from colour mixing in a textile studio to successfully running my own online card and print company. However, it was in 2020, during the pandemic, that I found my way back to painting, rediscovering my passion for creating art.

Since then, my work has been featured in The Artist magazine, I have been longlisted for the Women In Art Prize (formerly Holly Bush painting prize) taken part in secret postcard exhibitions, had my work chosen for several Open Call exhibitions (The Tarpey Gallery and The Old Lock Up Gallery)

I am also proud to be an artist with the beautiful Whistlefish Gallery in Cornwall. I joined Welland Valley Art Society in 2025 and won ‘Best Abstract’ at the Spring Show.

July 2025 I exhibited with RA Rejects in London and in 2026 I will be exhibiting in several galleries - Stamford Arts Centre, The Place Stamford, Jamaica Street Studios Bristol and Rugby Art Gallery.
My art prints are for sale through Artfully Walls (including Anthropologie) and Artrepreneur in the US and I am represented for licensing by The London Studio. My art cards are sold across the US and Canada.

I live with my wonderfully supportive husband, two lovely sons, a feisty rabbit called Sausage and a cat called Betty.
