Milly Stokes

My art is about the colourful patterns we leave on the Land. The abstracted landscapes are my window on journeys through the environment showing marks made over time by all those who live and work in the fields. As an artist who enjoys expressing myself through oil paints, my paintings focus on producing abstracted and colourful landscapes, pushing myself to explore new techniques to capture atmospheric light and sense of space. The landscape series is inspired by my surroundings and experiences on the farm. I am now taking commissions, please do get in touch to discuss a painting of your farm.

After studying a three dimensional design degree I worked in retail design. I have recently completed an oil painting Diploma with Martin Kinnear at the Norfolk Painting School and now paint full time. I hope to share my love for life and the beauty I see in the land, evoking feelings for the viewer of taking a walk through my world.
