Rachael Aldridge

I established Aldridge Glass in 2005 to ensure I actually used the skills I gained studying Architectural Stained Glass in Swansea in the early 1990s.

Working mainly in Northamptonshire, I can be found restoring a front door damaged by an errant tennis ball, to installing a new window in an ancient church, and everything in between that involves glass and lead.

Specialising in glass painting and staining allows me to not just work with leaded lights (coloured glass and lead) but to manipulate the light through the coloured glass to create images either traditional or abstract.

My work can be found in many domestic settings in the area, but also across the county in public buildings, from the entrance hall of St Edwards Primary School in Kettering, to the Caroline Chisholm Memorial window in Holy Sepulchre Church, Northampton, or the 26 new roundels in Brackley Town Hall.

I recently completed a new commission for Little Houghton Church, Northants, and 3 new interior panels for Brigstock Lathams School.

Joy comes not only from restoring something damaged or creating something new, but by carrying on a centuries old tradition, with the knowledge that my work has the potential to still exist, be seen and judged, hundreds of years hence.
