Irina Mitchell
Handwoven woollen textiles

Meet the Artist!
Drawing inspiration from natures beautiful colours, patterns and shapes, Irina endeavours to create unique pieces of decorative art such as rugs, wall decorations and more wearable pieces like purses and bags. No two pieces are identical, although themes may flow from one piece to another.
“I love tangling colours! What I do is really simple: it is bright, it is colourful, it is sometimes abstract and it is the sort of thing that anybody could do. I am very passionate about sharing my knowledge and craft. I have opened my studio to host school visits and tutored enthusiastic learners, both children and adults. I love to show how to weave on my loom and spark creativity in people to have a go themselves.“
As an artist, I am proud to be a member of the Northants Open Studios and share with the wider public my art and how it is created.“
Private commissions are welcome. Share with me your favourite colours and I will tangle them for you! And if you want to learn how to weave your own rug, let me know and I will teach you!
