Caroline Swan

Based in Northamptonshire, UK, Caroline Swan produces expressive landscape, floral and still life paintings that capture the delicate balance between the tangible world and the sensory experience of light. 

Born in Gloucestershire, Caroline held a lifelong passion for drawing and painting. However, it was only after taking early retirement from the financial services industry that she picked up a paintbrush again to follow her lifelong dream. 

Self-taught, she developed a meticulous realism style across multiple genres using oils and acrylics, enhancing and intensifying natural colours along the way. 

Her latest signature series marks a profound personal breakthrough following a recent discovery of her neurodivergence and AuDHD. On her canvases, the unique dualities of her mind exist in harmony. Her autistic nature finds deep peace and grounding in quiet geometry, perspective, and meticulous rendering. This hyper-focus is given full expression in her traditional still lifes, and regional Northamptonshire landscapes, celebrating the predictable truth of forms and cast shadows.

In contrast, her signature series introduces a dynamic dialogue with her ADHD. Here, the structured foundations serve as an anchor for a vibrant bouquet of bokeh—dreamy, overlapping orbs of light and fluid reflections that refuse to be bound by strict lines, mimicking the dazzling daydream of her sensory thoughts.

Caroline has been exhibiting locally since 2019, and her paintings are held in both private and commercial collections.
