I became interested in ceramics in the 1970s and when the opportunity came I studied ceramics as part of a combined arts degree course. My earliest inspirations were traditional European and Japanese pottery and the British studio pottery movement. Also I made fairytale houses and characters for my children. I returned to the printing industry to support my family for the remainder of my career. The time available in retirement enabled me to rekindle my love of ceramics.

Prompted by family and friends I joined the Play with Clay pottery group in Blisworth and still use their facilities. I make individual and small series of pots. Also I make small fairytale characters which were originally for my grandchildren, these are low fired earthenware and are often finished with acrylic paint or part glazed.
