About this Collection
Following her retirement from the Health Visiting profession in 2012, she attended Hampstead School of Art in London to study portrait painting, followed by completing a second Masters degree in Fine Art at Northampton University, graduating in 2015 and basing her dissertation on the concept of women's self-portraiture. Her first Masters degree was in modern literature and completed in 2001.
She feels that combining the themes of literature and the visual arts has given her a unique insight into her preferred subject matter of figurative painting, trying to keep her painting style loose and her brush strokes visible. This does not preclude a genuine interest in painting still life subjects and experimenting with the form.
