Watercolour and Ink Painting

Painting is like meditation. Immersing myself in colour and form and telling stories through my work allows me to step out of the world and be in my happy place. Wildlife, nature, whimsical characters plus an eclectic mix of domestic animals fill the watercolour papers with vibrant colours and humour. I enjoy mixing animals in the picture that in the real world may not get on but here they are friends, so that when they are viewed it will create smiles and encourage friendship, particularly in my illustrations for children. I grew up in the countryside and attended a school that was very biased towards the arts so I consider myself fortunate to have such an encouraging start to my long creative career.
