About this Collection

After attending some print courses at Leicester Print Workshop in 2025, I fell in love with reduction linocut printing. My watercolour painting was very controlled, painted with small brushes and I needed to be pushed out of my comfort zone and try something new. Linocut printing did just that, it required a completely different way of thinking when cutting into the lino and printing the layers of colour to create a picture. Each time I lifted the paper off the lino it gave me a feeling of finding treasure, not knowing what would happen. It didn't matter if it worked or not as I was learning and exploring the technique. The feeling of uncertainty is exciting. My skills are growing and the response to my work has been so positive with two pieces being chosen for the Leicester Open Exhibition at the end of 2025. Nature, wildlife and organic pattern continue to be my inspiration with this wonderful creative technique.
