About this Collection
I can paint a realistic landscape, but that rarely lights me up half so much as a one painted from feelings, memories, emotions. And often, these paintings do not even start out with the intention of being a landscape at all... they are intuitive abstract paintings where, over time and many layers, a landscape emerges.
Even when there IS intention, I like to paint freely, loosely, keeping the paint marks flowing with energy and the colours fresh and exciting.
My influences are the impressionists for their beautiful painterly passages and fauvists for their unique sense of colour.
