Emma Saul New for 2023

This year I've been working in a much more expressive way and I've been fascinated with layers of colour and texture and the details and depths that can reveal, much like the layers and strata of the land itself. There are lines and patterns in a landscape that aren't always obvious without really looking at it and I've been trying to incorporate these lines and flows in a spontaneous and experimental way using a broader range of media like inks, charcoal, pastels, and gold leaf.
