Meet the Artist!
I first fell in love with clay doing adult education courses while still in my teens, and continued to get my hands into clay whenever family and teaching career allowed. In recent years I've been able to dedicate more time to developing my skills and experimenting with new techniques and have recently set up a new studio at 'Artat the Alex' in Rugby.
My pieces are all hand built, with a focus on surface decoration. I create most of my unique surface designs on flat slabs using coloured slip and laminated clays, with minimal glazing. My work is often inspired by forms and patterns in nature, from trees and lanscapes to rock strata and microscopic forms.
