Cordell Garfield
A professional Northampton based artist and tutor specialising in portraits and landscapes in oils.

Meet the Artist!
Cordell is primarily a self-taught professional artist using traditional classical techniques in oils to produce his paintings. Based in Northampton, portraits and figurative work feature strongly in his paintings, although he also finds inspiration from the light, shapes and colours of the landscapes he encounters, particularly in the underrated and beautiful countryside of Northamptonshire.
Although he loves using the classical techniques of painting from life, he also uses a more contemporary approach to create his artistic vision. He will use digital media/photographs, his own imagination and sketches to produce his paintings. This is the perfect combination of the traditional and the modern approach to painting.
Currently President of the Northampton Town and County Art Society, and an Associate Member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, he exhibits extensively in the county and nationwide, and his work is also held in collections outside the UK.
He also conducts portrait and landscape painting workshops and demonstrations in oils which are designed to guide you through the process of creating your own portraits.
