The abstract beauty of nature

These images are a collection of photographs taken whilst walking in Leicestershire & Norfolk.

My work is influenced by many things, abstract art, architecture, ceramics, installation art and sculpture. I am fascinated by the beauty in colour, shape, form and the minute detail of the natural and man-made landscape. I have been taking photographs for over 35 years. This is the starting point for my work. I use different techniques to abstract, highlight and accentuate my images to lift them from the everyday to something more evocative.

I am inspired by Mark Rothko, Andy Goldsworthy, Howard Hodgkin, Anish Kapoor, Richard Long, Antony Gormley, Barabra Hepworth, Ben Nicholson, Cildo Meireles, Richard Avedon, Fay Godwin, Walker Evans, Sally Matthews.
