Description
This a 2-day workshop which introduces you to abstraction via printmaking and collage. It is ideally suited to those with some experience of gel printing who want to introduce printmaking into their own practice by using collage or mixed media. The workshop offers much more than technique; I will help you to translate your starting ideas into a successful abstract design. We will consider colour and tone as well as a number of other elements that contribute to a strong composition. On Day 1 you will create a substantial number of prints. On Day 2 you will cut out and assemble a selection of these printed papers onto a cradled panel to create your finished piece. With only 4 places available there is plenty of time for discussion and individual support. I use these methods extensively in my own practice and to create many of the artworks listed here under my artist profile.
