I was born in Yorkshire and moved to London at the age of 26, where I lived for nearly 20 years. Seeking a change from the hustle and bustle of city life, I left the rat race and embraced the tranquility of the Lincolnshire countryside, where I now enjoy its wide-open spaces.
With a 30-year career as a fashion and interior designer/writer, I had the opportunity to travel extensively, immersing myself in diverse cultures and drawing inspiration from the myriads of colours and experiences.
During the pandemic, I was furloughed from my job and picked up my paints to pass the time. This marked the beginning of a profound journey of self-discovery. Spending each day at my easel during the pandemic underscored the preciousness of our time on earth and the importance of following life's subtle clues.
Working primarily in acrylic, my painting process is intuitive. My still life paintings, landscapes, and florals are vibrant, atmospheric reflections of places and spaces I cherish, featuring energetic brush strokes and multi-layered compositions of collage, paint, ink, and charcoal.
When I paint, I do so from a place of wonder that I am eager to share. If my art can evoke feelings of joy, peace, excitement, and curiosity, then I will have truly succeeded.
