I have always had a interest in art particularly drawing. But after leaving school I did not follow up my interest for 30 years. I then attended life drawing classes with a well known local artist John Lockett.
I will be first to admit that I am a slow painter. Producing a painting involves making many decisions and I often feel that I contradict myself! So as well as painting pictures of a conventional size, I often paint small work(6cm x 7cm). Usually with a magnifying lens.
I enjoy painting landscapes in both oils and watercolour and I have also painted portraits. My wife and I have been to many exhibitions in this country and abroad and I enjoy drawing in The National Gallery.
I am a member of The Town and County Art Society with whom I have exhibited for over 10 years. I have undertaken commissions.
