After working as a classroom assistant in Blisworth, I enrolled as a mature student at Northampton University on a degree course in Fine Art Painting and Drawing. Completion of my degree opened up a whole new period in my life.
After the degree course, I worked at Kelmarsh Hall in Northampton for five years as Artist in Residence. Here, I developed my interest in the structure of old buildings.
I enjoy working on landscapes, building up the layers to encapsulate the light in my paintings. My inspiration comes from my small sketchbook, which I always carry with me, as well as pencils and a small watercolor palette.
The recent completion of a Chinese art workshop has taken me in a new direction in my interpretation of Chinese ink painting.
