I am a watercolour artist. My painting style is representational and illustrative, inspired always by the effects of light and shade on people, places and objects. I enjoy the transparency of watercolour and the constant learning provided by this challenging medium. I enjoy plein air sketching and painting to plan a composition when possible, and use photography to provide extra reference material for more considered studio painting later.
I have exhibited with Network Arts and in 2020 was awarded the Highly Commended prize for my painting, Feed the Birds, in the Autumn Equinox exhibition at Rooftop Arts in Corby. In 2022 my painting, St Giles Cheese Shop, won Best in Show at their exhibition at 78 Derngate, Northampton. I joined Kettering & District Art Society in 2019 and regularly exhibit paintings and prints at the ARTworks Creative Space in Kettering. In the KDAS 116th Summer Exhibition in 2021 I was awarded a prize for my painting, A Place In The Sun. I was also a prize winner at the NOS Central Exhibition at Lamport Hall in 2022.
