In 2018 a dear friend suggested I 'had a go' at oil painting. Picking up my late fathers oil paints and brushes were a way of being close to him and my grandfather. Both were amateur artists, my father was more comfortable with watercolour and my grandfather a lover of oils.
I've always been creative, but never with paints. I love nature and plants and trees and clouds and sky's and water. I love how light creates shapes and shadows, mood and atmosphere and if I can capture even a small amount of the wonder of the natural world around us, I will be content and if someone loves it too, all the better.
4 years on I have successfully sold many paintings and completed a number of commissions, for which I have received wonderful feedback.
I have recently left the NHS after 22years to concentrate on painting and my new gallery business The Artful Duck in Raunds.
