Fiona studied Industrial Design and Furniture Restoration and Craftsmanship in the 90s. Then whilst raising her son, worked supporting young people with behavioural difficulties. All along she had a continuing need to work with wood, but limited by resources and space she turned to a scrollsaw to express her art.
Rejecting lifeless, indiscriminate CNC or laser techniques Fiona invests many hours of patient attention to the wood intricately hand cutting from rescued and native timbers she explores the imagery the timber suggests or simply weaves the beauty of the wood into her designs.
Most content when at her saw, Fiona is determind to make something beautiful and one of a kind.
