Mixed glass sculptures

A selection of glass works using enamel painted, fused and lamp worked glass elements

The main subject in these pieces has been painted with enamel paint. Enamels are extremely finely ground glass powders combined with a medium to form a paint, then fired in a kiln. The flowers have been sculpted in a flame of around 1000 degrees centigrade. Glass is melted then sculpted into blooms and leaves. These elements are assembled into stems and combined with the fused subjects to form the whole piece.
