I paint mainly in Acrylic with collage to give texture and pattern. I love strong colour but I find myself toning the colour down and becoming more subtle. Is this a permanent change, I doubt it!

I love painting landscapes with the aim of a place being recognisable but definitely not realistic.
I occasionally produce a still life painting and would love to do more but life gets in the way.
Like many artists I aspire to work more loosely, more abstractly but when I pick up a paintbrush, my head says be realistic, be accurate and so instead of a brush, I pick up a bit of card, or a pipette filled with acrylic ink or a palette knife.
Anything to stop me trying to paint a photograph.
