Description: This is a beautiful scene from the coast of England showing Whitby Harbour in Yorkshire. It was made using the poems of Gerard Manley Hopkins including 'God's Grandeur' and 'Pied Beauty' using paper. I printed out these words in different colours before ripping, tearing and cutting them to form the idyllic scene showing fishing boats moored in the harbour. I work with a variety of subject matter and that I love nature, wildlife, birds, the British countryside and coastline. Much of my work is made using paper collage techniques and the printed word. I am particularly inspired by the Northamptonshire Poet John Clare and Nene valley where I live.
