Printing Workshops

Make your own linoprints in my fully equipped local workshop. A safe, welcoming and non-judgemental environment where all abilities are encouraged. I offer taylor-made workshops, one-to-one guidance or small group sessions. Please note that due to Covid-19 restrictions, I am currently limiting workshops to two people from the same household or who are currently in a social bubble.

Linoprinting is straightforward and you can achieve great results in a relatively short amount of time. By cutting away the soft surface of a piece of lino and using a roller to apply the water-based ink, you will discover the thrill and immediacy of this wonderful artform. Accompanied children (8+) are welcome and would work with a softer polystyrene block to create their own artwork.

The cost includes use of all art materials- paper, tools and inks, access to two presses as well as a light lunch. Refreshments are also available throughout the day.

Previous workshop attendee, Heidi said, "Attending Sorrells linocutting workshop was the boost to my confidence I needed! Lots of advice and many suggestions that helped me to improve my technique and produce a piece of work that I was truly proud of."

Her friend, Susan added: "Myself and friends enjoyed a lino cutting and printing workshop with Sorrell. He is a very patient, approachable tutor, we felt very welcome in his studio and had a lovely day. I will definitely be returning."

And for a two-person workshop held in late October 2020, Sian commented: "It’s years since I did any Lino printing and I wasn’t feeling very enthusiastic and felt out of my comfort zone. I was quickly put at ease and not a moment was wasted. Sorrell provided everything we needed in his well-equipped studio. He explained the plan for the day and then demonstrated the process. What better way to learn a new interest?"
