Description
What will you do?
You will use a rich black stoneware clay, to hand shape hollow bird forms, add beak, wings and then pattern and decorate them with textures and add high firing wire to make the perfect little bird for your garden or as a gift for friends and family. Each person will have time to make one bird, suitable for outdoors or in the home
All materials – clay and wire – and firing your masterpiece after the pieces have dried carefully, are covered in the costs. There will be lots of support and advice to help you on your way. You will need to arrange to collect (in about two weeks time) once fired or your pieces can easily be posted at cost.
Who will I be taught by?
You will be learning from me, Louise Crookenden-Johnson, potter and clay enthusiast. I have been working with clay since my teens – 40 years ago! – in many different forms and in my Kettering pottery for the last 4 years. I adore being able to pass on new skills and inspire others. My approach is friendly and relaxed and I have seen that everyone has creative spirit, just not always the confidence, I love helping that emerge and seeing proud new potters.
Who is this workshop suitable for?
Everyone can do this – and so far people that have come have given fab feedback on my pottery experiences. My workshops are for adults – minimum age is 16 years old.
