About Me

About Me (And Updates...)

Calypso is a classical painter born and raised in Rutland. She trained at the Edinburgh Atelier of Fine Art, learning historical methods of drawing and painting that have been passed down from teacher to student since the 18th century.

From the emergence of an autoimmune disease at the age of seventeen, health has been an ongoing challenge throughout Calypso’s life. Despite periods of difficulty, her joy and zest for life continue to shine through. Her love of people, nature and animals is evident in her work, as she strives to present the world as it truly is; dark, mysterious, a little bit scary, and yet full of colour, light and beauty in abundance.

Northants and Rutland Open Studios is thrilled to host the annual September Festival once again in 2025. This year, we are excited to feature 325 talented artists from across the region.
