Born a Scouse, brought up in Chelsea - and a passionate painter.
Thrown out of art at 6 for being messy, and still is!
Expelled from art in kindergarden, her career path led her to a life of travel and international consulting. Fracturing her back in a horse riding accident, gave her a chance to reconnect with art in spinal rehab.
Began to paint seriously some 25 years ago. First selected for the Royal Institiute of Painters in Watercolojr in 2007….and since then nearly every year. Similarly nearly year on year, with the Society of Women Artists since 2008.
Passionate about painting, but more about feelings of place than reality. Fell in love with abstract expressionist art in Germany as teenager, went on to embrace the New York School and the magic of Joan Mitchell, Lee Krasner and other contemporaries. She began her art journey with contemporary portraiture, but now specialises in abstract expressionism. And in this quest has been lucky enough to be mentored by Dr Nancy Hillis for some 4 years - and has completed the intensive and in-depth Master Programme and now tutors on this from time to time. Maggy’s works have been exhibited in London, the Cotswolds and the Midlands, and her work has been collected in the US, the UK. Mainland Europe and South Africa. Now has wonky legs from her spinal injuries, but her passion for paint continues unabated.
