I have been making ceramics for over 25 years, constantly exploring new techniques, materials, glazes and sources of inspiration.
I make pots for the home and garden, to enjoy every day, or to give as unique gifts.
My work is inspired by landscapes, weather, the seasons, stormy skies, sunrise mists, the sea crashing against the cliff face, woodlands and forests, sunlit glades, plants, pools, rocks and pebbles.
I enjoy designing and making pots which enhance everyday life. My work is influenced by wabi sabi, seeing beauty in the every day, simplicity, nature, and imperfection. I often alter and mark thrown pots, their irregularities recording the hands of the maker.
I work in high fired stoneware clay and mix my glazes from raw materials before applying using multiple glazes and multiple techniques for unique varied surfaces with depth and variety. Each pot is individual, tactile and has its own character.
I post photos of my pots on my Pinterest page, and I post details of forthcoming events and new work on Facebook and Instagram. Visits to my studio are by appointment only as it is a small working space and my sale pots are packed away between visits.
