Recently retired from a career in primary education, I now devote much of my time to printmaking. My recent relief prints make reference to 20th century artists, Robert Taverner, Eric Ravilious and Edward Bawden, who were inspired by the English landscape and, in particular, the Sussex Downs and south coast where I grew up. Returning to the county for family reasons has given me the perfect excuse to develop new work based on the beautiful and varied Sussex landscape.
My etchings have been exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. I show work in the Skylark Bookshop/Gallery in Lewes and in the Primrose Gallery, Thrapston. I exhibit in the local area including the annual Kettering and District Art Exhibition, and have contributed to several Northamptonshire Open Studios events, including the Central Exhibition and I won the Best Studio prize in 2015. I run tailor-made events in my well-equipped print workshop and show a selection of work in my Coach House Gallery. Some of the artwork is now available in the form of high-quality fine-art giclee prints, signed by me and offered at a lower price.
