About Me (And Updates...)

Joan Kirby is a Stamford based artist. Although born in the UK her years residing in New Zealand has influenced her love of art and colour and is expressed through the years in textiles and interior design.

Joan enjoys working with different mediums such as: water colour, water- based oils, pastel, acrylic, and mixed media. Her art is used to capture fleeting moments in time and the emotion that the moment evoked. Joan enjoys painting nature from: insects, flowers, scenery and unusual ocean sunsets and sunrises. She also paints figurative work and portraits.
