Kathryn Brown

My background is in Fashion & Design, I graduated from University for the Creative Arts (KIDA) in 1990’s. Having worked in various clothing manufactures for many years which I loved, I became a full time Mum for my three daughters, who have now flown the nest. This has given me the time and opportunity to rediscover my Artistic side.

I do work full time, for the NSPCC, however over the past year or so I have been enjoying becoming creative once more.

My work is in watercolour, although I do like to embroider and sew, painting is my thing. In my college years we were always trained to use Gouache, so working with watercolours is an exciting new challenge for me.

I do hope you enjoy my work, I am still learning and finding methods and effects I love. Some of my work can be very impressionistic, I may spend time just exploring and creating feelings of nature. Or other days I feel inspired by a landscape or Animals to push myself to create a more realistic image.

I have lived in the beautiful village of Geddington for over 30 years. My studio is a lovely long attic room, with plenty of light, although my cats always find me!
