I paint mostly in oils, some pastels and the occasional watercolour, and have painted for a living since 1983, having had a 12 year career as a golf professional prior to that - a natural progression!
I have exhibited my work in various galleries over the years, in Cornwall, Devon, The Cotswolds, London, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire and now Rutland, having opened my own gallery, Peter Barker Fine Art, in 2015 in Uppingham. The gallery sells my own work and that of 16 other superb artists from Britain.
I was elected a member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists in 2015, and have won awards at the ROI and the Pastel Society annual exhibitions at the Mall Galleries, London.
