I am a Northamptonshire based artist and teacher, interested in documenting the places I live in and love through painting, drawing and printmaking. My work explores the spaces that I inhabit from more intimate gardens and allotments to larger landscapes of mountains and trees. I generally start by working from observation, sketching in gouache or watercolour on paper from still lives or on location in gardens and landscapes. Back home I develop these sketches playing around with materials, scale, colour and composition. I vary my mediums, incorporating collage papers and card into my work. Recently I have been developing work from sketchbook work from Morocco and the Lake District. I also run adult and children's art workshops at Yardley Arts Centre in the village of Yardley Hastings.
