I have always loved painting and drawing and studied art at Warwick University and went on to become a teacher but then stopped painting for 20 years. During lockdown 2020, I was told to shield and to help my mental health, I set up a little desk in our hallway and started to draw and paint. In August 2022, I started to share my work on Instagram and this led me to enter two paintings into my first exhibition where they sold. Since then I have entered further exhibitions and enjoy sharing my work with others. I enjoy working with oils as I find them more forgiving to a beginner artist and I also love their texture. But I also enjoy watercolours for their speed and fluidity. I am really inspired by wildlife, nature and landscapes but also enjoy painting people and pets too.
