A World of Chickens and Colour.
I was first taught cross-stitch when I was 7, but I did not pick it up again until I was 21 (and far more patient). Digital programs help me to generate some images based on photos, and I tweak them until I am ready to sew ... Otherwise, I enjoy a more freestyle approach with bright patterns! Pieces can take from 1 week up to 3 months. My family chickens feature a lot in my work: they have big personalities and I try to convey them.
As well as cross-stitching, I like to create with my sewing machine. Such as my bookmarks recycled from pre-loved books, available from my Etsy shop: Sew Wordy (so look out for seasonal sales). I try to experiment with different ideas and subjects!
Cross-stitch is a relaxing part of my every day, but my first love is writing. In 2023 I published my first story as a part of QStory Northampton writing group, in a book called Look for Rainbows: An Anthology of Queer Hope which is available via Amazon in paperback and ebook.
